The Biziraun collection (Basque term for lasting or enduring) is Asier’s first collection as an independent designer during Copenhagen Fashion Week 2023 SS24.
Biziraun is born from a deep, personal excavation of memory—an intimate dialogue with heritage, family, and the quiet threads that bind us to the past. At its heart lies the legacy of my grandmother, a skilled tailor, whose hands stitched both garments and generational knowledge into the fabric of our lives.
The collection takes form through the transformation of vintage clothing and fragments from my own archive—objects steeped in time and meaning. It centres on the suit: a symbol of power, tradition, and patriarchy. By unpicking its structure, both literally and metaphorically, I reconstruct it from a place of tenderness.
What emerges is not a rejection, but a reimagining—where the suit sheds its rigidity and reclaims space for softness, queerness, and nuance. Biziraun becomes both a continuation and a quiet rebellion: an act of survival through reinvention.
